The growth of Navayuga to its current – rapidly evolving form – in just about 3 decades of existence is a story of inspiration, commitment and hard work. The cornerstones, as always, remain quality delivery in time if not ahead of it.

Maritime trade in the country is going to have a new synonym. KPCL's mega port is really a destination for tomorrow. While India's 12 major ports get a boost to forge into international standards, KPCL will quietly – and quickly – emerge way above par.

In fact we have already set the tone for how cutting-edge we are going to be. For our harbour breakwaters, our engineers have designed a new kind of armour stones that they are calling Kolos. These should have a Kd value of 38, and we are in the process of filing for a patent for it.

IIT Chennai is conducting studies into the invention.

Meanwhile, KPCL will be looking at capturing a large share of the steep and continued growth in container traffic, occuring over the past 3 to 5 years, on a BOT basis.

Krishna Bridge: A fine example of marriage between innovation and technology, this 3-Km long bridge was completed in a record 11 months, despite the extremely high cumecs of 28823 cubic metres at a maximum depth of 8m. Not surprisingly, it earned us immense accolades from the government of AP.

This was possible because of brilliant site-specific planning and design. The river-width had a central island around which the construction was carried out. This also made the timelines more aggressive as it was imperative that the bridge be completed before the next monsoon, pending which the island would get submerged.

Metro rail. And India

Two of India's most prestigious metro rail projects are being driven by the strengths of the Navayuga Group. In the National Capital, we join the nation in delighting in the project that has set the precedent – and the tone – for the future of the country's mass transport system. Fast, economical, clean and reliable… that's the way that the metro rails are going to go.

Navayuga Group takes pride in engineering and executing the largest station in Delhi at Pragati Maidan, which can take up to 2 lac passengers at a time.

And now it goes about working with renewed vigour – powered by its accomplishments – to do even better with the Rs 138.55 crore Bangalore metro project where we are constructing a 5.5 Km long elevated viaduct.

Simhadri: Simhadri will remain special to the Navayuga Group for many reasons. Not the least of which is that it was our first Rs 100+crore project.

It truly was a feat of engineering with a caisson 750 metres away from the shore into the sea under extremely difficult tidal conditions. The work was high precision and involved grave risks for our engineers and workers. But we forged on fearless. We went down 38m below sea level.

We executed the pump house and pipelines ourselves too.
