NMIA Panvel Airport Connectivity

The Navi Mumbai International Airport Interchange

The Navi Mumbai International Airport Interchange (NMIAI) is a strategically significant transportation infrastructure project being executed by Navayuga Engineering Company Limited for Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Limited (MSRDCL). The project provides seamless connectivity to the Navi Mumbai International Airport through a network of high-speed interchanges on NH-548 and NH-348A, forming a critical gateway to one of India’s most important aviation infrastructure developments. The project comprises eastern and western interchange systems with a combined length of approximately 8.1 km.

The scope includes the construction of major bridges, directional ramps, loop structures, vehicular underpasses, box culverts, service roads, utility relocations, and associated infrastructure works. Designed to facilitate smooth traffic movement between Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, JNPT Port, and the international airport, the interchange integrates complex bridge engineering, highway infrastructure, and urban connectivity solutions within a highly constrained and operational traffic environment.

As a key component of the Navi Mumbai International Airport ecosystem, the project will play a vital role in enhancing regional mobility, supporting economic growth and strengthening multimodal connectivity across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. Upon completion, the interchange will serve as a landmark transportation hub, ensuring efficient access for passengers, logistics operators, business travellers, government dignitaries and millions of commuters using one of India’s most significant emerging infrastructure corridors.

This project was conceptualized by the Government of Maharashtra to provide direct connectivity between existing Atal Setu and Navi Mumbai for seamless connectivity and to & fro movement to the new airport.
